Westover, West Virginia, October 15, 2008 – TaxTech®, a tax return preparation and bookkeeping service that has operated for the past eight years in the Westover area, has changed its name to BookSmarts™ Tax & Accounting Services (BookSmarts™). The BookSmarts™ franchise, with not only year-round bookkeeping and accounting services for small businesses, now offers a full menu of personal financial services as well. The Westover location is one of five retail locations in West Virginia and southwest Pennsylvania. According to Christy Orinick, who owns and operates the Westover operation, the conversion to the BookSmarts™ franchise was made to better meet the growing needs of our customers.
“Historically, our primary business has been tax return preparation. Tax returns will still be a large part of the business, but as a BookSmarts franchise we can offer individuals and small businesses affordable year-round financial services that they may not have had access to before. In addition to preparing tax returns, we can help clients manage their money with advice on how to organize personal finances. For small businesses, we can take care of just about every accounting need, from bookkeeping to payroll. We can even set up your books on accounting software for a business and train employees on how to use it,” Orinick explained.
The BookSmarts franchise is built on a model that offers small business owners and individuals walk-in retail store access to front-line professionals who are backed by a leading CPA firm. The company sees a gap in the market that it believes BookSmarts can fill with an affordable option to traditional accounting firms and other financial services companies.
